Are you nuts? Danica is a fantastic actress.
shareNo, we're not nuts. We're being as real as you can get on this. Danica Mckellar may be a total brain when it comes to math, but her acting is AWFUL. She is one of the worst actresses on the Hallmark channel, with her contrived acting. It doesn't come off naturally for her, and it shows onscreen A LOT.

shareLOL that "look" totally matches Kristen Stewart, who though deliciously beautiful, looked like she was having a really bad case of diarrhea throughout the Twilight series. I overlooked it, because she's such a hottie. This could be the same "Halo effect" influencing user "KristenStewartForever" above.
shareI have to (sadly) agree. I thought she was great in The Wonder Years, but the degree of difficulty in a kids show is decidedly less.
Much like Elizabeth McGovern in Downton Abbey, McKellar's acting is so bad it's actually distracting from the whole production. There are quite a few minor roles in Hallmark movies where the actors are pretty bad, but minor roles don't generally ruin a whole movie like McKellar does at the helm.
The difference with child actors is also that they're probably more "coachable". That was also a sitcom that didn't require much range. "Just be cute", which was so easy for her, wow was she ever.

shareWow, have to agree. She's just so bad in Hallmark movies. I've seen every Hallmark movie and watch the reruns but I skip those with her in it.

I don't get the Kat Dennings thing at all. If she didn't have a rack, she'd be a nobody. She has a simian look to her and her voice is grating. This is a pretty good picture of her with her boyfriend though:
