Mistrial!!!
He's going to walk free.
All praise to Lord Xenu!!
HELL YES!...WHEN THE FUCK IS RAPE GONNA BE MADE LEGAL ANYWAY?...IT'S ABOUT TIME,AM I RIGHT? NOEMOJI
shareNo solid proof he's a rapist. Just based on words from shady characters.
shareYEAH...WOMEN ARE SHADY CHARACTERS. NOEMOJI
shareNot all women. Just the toxic ones. I think as a male in Hollywood, you gotta be extra careful around women. Hell, even in real life with female coworkers. You gotta watch what you say or do. Even a firm handshake with a woman can be misconstrued as "sexual assault" or whatever bs like that. It's sad how times have changed.
shareI REALLY DISLIKE YOU I THINK. NOEMOJI
shareYou are ridiculous. It sounds like you’re a real jerk to have in the office.
shareGood! Best news I've heard all week. No solid evidence.
shareJust out of curiosity, what is solid evidence in a rape case?
shareSemen, DNA is fairly solid evidence.
I'm sorry maybe this is a "big" thing to say but when you come out with rape allegations YEARS after it allegedly happened, you lose all credibility. How can you have a trial without solid evidence? We're supposed to automatically believe them? False accusations are real too.
But semen and DNA is only evidence that intercourse took place. Condoms can be used. If there is no vaginal or anal tearing, then it is argued that there was no struggle. Even if there is, then it could have just been a little rough. Unless there are witnesses, or other physical signs of struggle it's a he said/she said. Not everyone struggles. Not even having witnesses will guarantee anything.
shareWow you sound pretty eager to defend this POS
Totally believable and not at all biased
cool, he can make a comedy with Kevin Spacey and Bill Cosby directed by Woody Allen
shareI DON'T THINK HE WOULD LIKE MR. SPACEY VERY MUCH. NOEMOJI
shareNo evidence Woody Allen did anything wrong.
shareThere's plenty of evidence that he's made a bunch of lame ass movies. I consider that to be wrong.
shareMidnight in Paris is incredible. One of my favorites. And he’s had a pretty stellar filmography overall. Just because you don’t like the dude doesn’t change the art he’s made. If you personally don’t like his films, fine, but many of his films are pretty widely recognized as being solid.
It sucks that people can’t make that distinction anymore. Roman Polanski…horrible dude, brilliant filmmaker. Chinatown doesn’t suck because Polanski is a rapist. I am able to dislike Polanski as a person and still think his films are incredible. I wish more people were able to do that in today’s world. I doesn’t mean I’m defending what he did in his personal life because I think Rosemary’s Baby is a classic.
Instead, all you hear is “He did this, his movies suck. He did that, his music sucks. I disagree with “so and so’s” politics, so everything they do is garbage. Blah, blah, blah.”
I just felt the need to add that into the discussion while I was reading all of this stuff. Haha.
He may not have much of a career after this but I'm glad he gets to walk away as it was taking the "me too" thing too far based off of accusations with no proof from the early 2000s.
shareIt's amazing how many people will say, "great news" or "I'm so happy" just because of lack of evidence. First, the justice system is messed, and second just because there's no concrete evidence, that doesn't mean it didn't happen. Do you expect victims to just pull our their phones and start recording while they were being raped? And even if they did, you'd still probably ask, "did she consent before she recorded?"
I can't say whether he's guilty or not,
but I'm not going to jump for joy because I don't know anyone involved and I wasn't there. The amount of people who enjoy seeing alleged rapists get away is seriously concerning. Guaranteed if your daughters accused some guy of rape without enough evidence, you wouldn't be so quick to side with the alleged rapist.
The amount of people who enjoy seeing alleged rapists get away is seriously concerning.
Or even if he didn't, was there alcohol involved? What were you wearing? Did anyone see?
Or they just want to see the results of a fair trial before passing judgment? That's the human thing to do, after all.
sharelevel headed comment
sharepeople are glad to see that justice prevails, not mob rule. They jump for joy that the court of public opinion didn't dictate this outcome, and rather facts were the only consideration.
shareIt was a mistrial, he wasn't found not guilty.
shareBut he wasn't found guilty either, which is how our justice system works, so justice was served regardless. A mistrial is better than convicting an innocent person. Also, I saw the jury votes. and they heavily favored not guilty all 3 times.
shareYou missed my point. Even though he hasn't been found guilty, it was a mistrial. Why cheer?
shareHE HATES WOMEN. NOEMOJI
shareWhy not?
shareBe ause a mistrial doesn't mean he's innocent.
shareAnd I'd rather see a guilty man go free than an innocent man get convicted. Considering the majority of the jury felt he was innocent, I'll consider it a win for justice. At least they didn't convict him simply to appease the masses, as happens from time to time.
shareSometimes it's just blatantly obvious that there was some serious rape going on. Example - Harvey Weinstein.
But this case... was very odd from the start and not entirely believable
Look at what you can get away with in America if you have enough money.
Google Michael Peterson - the Staircase Killer
Scientology could be a factor too.
sharePoppycock! Staircases aren't even alive!
shareHmmm, I have had a Twitter account for a while, but never used it until recently when I was curious as to what was going on there. I've noticed quite a few Tweets about Scientology from Leah Remini ... and wow, that organization is really a danger. Worse then radical Islam.
shareIt's always been my policy to question any religion made up by a Sci-Fi author. I'm weird that way.
shareYeah, I did some research into Scientology years ago. It's really really bad stuff. There's bad eggs in any religion of course. But yeah, I don't think it's a mistake that Germany refuses to recognize Scientology as a religion. I think they've straight declared that it's an abusive organization.
shareI wouldn't say he totally got away with it.
shareHe never came inside them!
shareThank God! YESEMOJI
