That's the kind of boss she is nowadays over there. It appears whatever kind of power she has over parts of Hollyweird, it's horrifying at Lucas's own studio.

shareI heard Bob Iger tricked him into it. He played on Lucas's fears when he told him "he had no heirs," because none of George's kids wanted to get involved with his business from an administrative position. Considering what happened to the Walt Disney corporation and the Tolkien estate after most of the family died off, I'm not sure George would have gotten any better results if one of his kids had been interested in running the family business.
Though apparently George really didn't know Kathleen Kennedy as well as the thought he did. She must have put on one face for him and Spielberg, and showed her real one the moment she got the most envious contract in Hollyweird. I've also heard she wouldn't have gotten that contract without being friends with Spielberg too. Despite him being mostly retired and out of the public eye these days, word on the street is Steven essentially "runs" Hollywood, and if he doesn't approve someone for a job that big, they aren't gonna get it.
It must be nice, having a contract with a "no firing clause" in it, so no matter how bad you are at doing your job, nobody can kick you out without a seriously messy lawsuit on their hands. A pity the Grim Reaper couldn't come along and terminate her mortal contract. Nobody would miss her.
Thanks for the information. The buck eventually stops at Iger. I've never ever liked him. Something was really off for me regarding him, from the start. If only we can turn back time and ask George to sell Lucasfilm to Comcast/NBC. They would've treated Star Wars better, I feel.
shareI would have loved sending a letter with DVD's of the Sequel Trilogy and all the Star Wars shows on Disney Plus back to him in 2011 (when he was thinking of selling to Disney), revealing exactly what KK was going to do to his "baby" if he sold to Disney and let her have her way with his life's work. Selling to someone else and putting John Favreau in charge would have been a better option. I could even prove that in the letter with the Mandalorian DVD's.
Either that, or send someone back in time to 2005 after "Revenge of the Sith" wrapped up and have them bump off KK.
