shareThank you, hownos. How nice to see this post. I'm so tired of seeing people on trending, and when you go to the page it's someone ripping them apart, sprinkled with a lot of vulgarity. π
shareTotally agree, this is a breath of fresh air :)
sharegreat song and i like the thumbs up picπ π
shareAlways loved this song, I never liked country music until I heard this.
shareI think Garth Brooks played a big part in getting "new country" to a wider audience, especially those who didn't care for the old-time twangy stuff, as I call it.
shareI love that old-time twangy stuff myself! Cash, Nelson, Jennings, Cline, Parton are the type of artists I think of first when I think of country music.
A lot of modern country sounds very generic to me.
I agree. I wasn't always a big country music fan, until Garth. Once I started listening to him, I explored more of the old stuff, and I like a lot of it. Yes, a lot of the newer stuff is kind of generic, and more pop-sounding than country. With that said, I've been a Willie Nelson fan for year - okay, decades. I wasn't too sure about him at first, but I had a roommate who was a huge fan of his. The more I heard him, the more I liked him.
shareGreat song.
shareHis popularity in the 90's was substantial and well earned.
