Dissapointing in Black Swan
Vincent Cassel was the main reason I wanted to see Black Swan because he's usually such a good actor. But his performance here was so wooden.

shareYesterday I watched the movie for the second time - Vincent was excellent, and far from "wooden". His acting is very subtle, so one have to watch carefully, but he is great as always.
I thought he might turn out to be the naughty seducer and he didn't! :)))
First: that's not his "fault", it's in the script.
Second: That's imo exactly what makes the character of Thomas interesting. For example, when he invites Nina to his appartment for drinks, everybody excepts that he will take advantage of her. But - he doesn't. Sure, he asks obscene questions, but that's it. Same when they are alone in the ballett studio.
He has no sexual interest in Nina at all, everything he does, he does for her performance. Would he have tried to *beep* her, that would have been cheap and not adequate for this movie.
