Not really; Mike Leigh tends to do stark realism. Emily appears to prefer quirkier, more fantastic projects.

I would certainly call Breaking the Waves and The Proposition quirky and fantastic, and Hillary and Jackie contains many fantastic undertones.

I think, She is very open-minded and interested in pushing boundaries. She have survived Lars von Trier so I am sure she can do a movie with Mike Leigh. It could be such an interesting collaboration.

Mike Leigh doesn't work with famous actors.

He no longer uses Brenda Blethyn because she got too big I'm guessing. The most famous actor I've seen him use recently has been Jim Broadbent and Timothy Spall.
