Yeah, or a giant compared to Danny DeVito, so what's your point? He's only like 2 inches shorter than Tom Cruise and btw that info is probably too old and coming from the times when he was a kid or something. But even if he is that short, there are actors who are shorter. You don't have to be 6'4" to look good on camera... plus with all his money he could open his own company or produce his own movies. Maybe he's not interested in acting anymore, now THAT I could understand...

He doesn't have that much money, I say 4 million at best. Which yeah, that is a lot but not enough to open a production company or anything. He only made 600,000 for Tom & Huck before taxes and paying others etc. He made less than that for prior movies I say. After that the only other movies he made were Wild America and I'll be home for christmas. The other movies after were low budget and I'm sure didn't pay a lot. Taran made 1.5 million for Home Improvement, that was in articles during his family feud. So, JTT probably made about 1.5 million too. So, maybe 1 million for I'll be home for christmas, before any expenses paid. Possibly around that much for Wild America. So, I say around 3-4 million total. Remember he had to probably pay about 50% of his earnings in taxes. And he probably only got 25% of his money after paying his agent, manager, publicist etc. He's not rich like Tim Allen or anything. Tim has his own production company, he is a producer. Tim made in about a couple months, or maybe an early season of Home Improvement, what JTT made his whole career. The only way he would have more is if he got a percentage of what The Lion King made or something. But I think Disney only paid him a flat rate but I could be wrong. That's just my opinion. He probably still has all that money too. He probably lives off his residuals. Man, there is no business like show business. It's like the gift that keeps on giving. I mean, actors get paid to do the job once but then don't do anything and get paid over and over, again and again.

Well I don't remember where I've heard that he went to, like, Harvard... so I suspect he might be fine without his acting career. Cause I think if he really WANTED to come back, he'd still have more chances that somebody who's never been famous. And I've hear he was worth 22 million, maybe that's not true of course. Anyway, I remember Timm Allen saying how talented the guy is and how he's gonna have a great career and then... well, pretty much none of that happens, which is sad.

The rumor was started on some thread that he was offered 22 million to come back for Home Improvement's 8th season, not that he had 22 million. I've never heard that he had that much anywhere and I don't think he was offered 22 million for that season either. I can picture Tim Allen saying all that about JTT before their rift, after probably not. I think Tim thought JTT proved to be unreliable, untruthful, ungrateful...JTT owes his career to Tim because without Home Improvement and being cast in Home Improvement because of his resemblence to Tim, JTT wouldn't have had a career.

JTT was a talented child actor, who knows now what he is. It takes more than talent to have a good career in show business. I wonder what JTT thinks of none of those dreams he talked about in the 90s coming true. I wonder what he does these days, just lives off residuals? I don't know, maybe he has some kind of job, maybe not. I would think if he were doing something we would have heard about it. After all, we all heard about him attending Columbia. His acting career gave that to him also, I don't think he would have gotten into such a great school without fame, I mean just based on odds. Those schools accept famous people for publicity.

Why was he untruthful and anfaithful? Tim Allen said he was talented and with a great career ahead of him AFTER Home Improvement ended.

But if that was just an offer, if he hadn't 22 million and he was offered that much(or even 2.2 million) and refused, I just can't believe it, it was stupid. But when you're a kid you can't always make right decisions, even if those would affect your career...

I guess we won't find out what he's doing now =] But after a great school and with some money, I think he's fine.

His decisions regarding Home Improvement and thereafter aside, I think he had a good head on his shoulders, as far as his values.

He always seemed to value education. I do know that he left Harvard and never got the undergrad degree until he went back to Columbia. So I guess I can't claim to know for SURE.

But I DO remember hearing that he had a 4.0 all through school, AP classes, possibly valedictorian in high school (not sure about that one, though, just vaguely remember hearing it. I know his schooling was untraditional). And I always thought he was very articulate. Maybe his fame (and therefore ability to PAY- an opportunity which yes, was given to him from acting) was a factor, but I think he was quite intelligent, besides.

I know that wasn't your whole point. Just wanted to point that out about the Ivy League schools. haha.

He was lucky to be able to have 1 on 1 tutoring all those years. It is way better than being overlooked in a classroom with 30 students. He got an individualized education where the teacher, I'm sure, made sure his needs were met. And they were able to compact it and cut out wasted time, he only got tutored for like 4 hours a day. I think it would be easier to get better grades in that environment because it it personalized to you, your learning styles and if you don't understand something the teacher can spend some time working with you personally to fix it. And no distractions.
