The real reasons Ben Stiller isn't acting anymore

For a while in the late '90s and 2000s, it felt like you couldn't watch a trailer for a new comedy without seeing the familiar face of Ben Stiller. He appeared in five or six films a year for the majority of the decade, delighting audiences with his stark comedic deadpan, especially when the film's plot placed him in completely absurd or embarrassing situations. Lately, though, it seems that the prolific actor has moved away from the limelight and into the background. He appears to be looking for a new direction in his career, but many fans are wondering if they'll be seeing him on the big screen again any time soon. Between directorial aspirations, personal and interpersonal trials, and global refugee concerns, it seems Stiller has had a very full plate for the last few years. It's no wonder that acting has taken a back seat. Let's take a closer look at what's been keeping him from acting, and the real reasons you don't see Ben Stiller anymore.

He's a fucking terrible actor, false, unlikeable, and not very funny.

Since he seems to have real talent as a director, I think moving him behind the camera was a win for everybody!

On Dodgeball, they were shooting on a residential street and Stiller demanded that his SUV park in someone's driveway. The homeowner opened the garage to leave and here's this SUV parked in her driveway and Stiller is sitting it with a driver. She asks him to move so she can leave and he started screaming at this woman! He demanded the driver not move the SUV and was screaming at everyone. They thought he was having a psychotic break! He was totally irrational and crazy through the whole shoot. Crew hated him.

Who cares, so he got mad
have you ever tried to direct a movie, of manage anything except your nonsensical comments?

If that story is true, he was breaking about ten laws there.

He used to come into a restaurant I was a regular at. He’d walk in with his wife and act like he was onstage to accept an award. Then he’d flirt with the cute young waitresses right in front of his wife.

He was doing an impression of his Friends character to entertain an relax the crew

He just isn't funny, none of these dumb ass style comics are. He also does not come across as warm or have any screen presence. Nothing special about him.

I just figured it was because he has always sucked and has never been funny like his partner in crapiness Owen Wilson. The one time I did laugh at something he did was his "Asian" testimony in the Cable Guy

Zoolander No.2 Bombed but if he decides to comeback he should be welcomed like Brendan Fraser last year

I met Stiller at a Smith's grocery store in Summerlin, Las Vegas a few years ago. He asked me if I had seen Zoolander, I said it's one of my favorite comedies. He then asked if I had seen Zoolander 2, I said "not yet". Bam, kick in the balls.
