That probably is correct. Lisa Whelchel may have had her facts wrong. When she was asked the name of the actress she sounded like she wasn't sure. It was from an episode on Ricki Lake's show which was about teen stars and where are they now.

It wasn't Kim, it was the actress who played her older sister who had a drug problem. They replaced the actress with Krista Ericson.
sharePoor Donna. Anytime she gets mentioned her drug problem always gets rolled out. To be fair I do believe when Kim got older just like most of her peers she enjoyed a good party, I don't think it was ever a major problem though like was for Donna.
