Why Did He Leave Roseanne?

His storyline came to an end, plain and simple.

He was always on recurring status, and never a part of the main cast, although he appeared in so many memorable episodes, that could be disputed. But technically, he wasn't a main cast member, and he played out his storyline well.

i always thought he left because he was doing the new show called life's work. I remember a scene in roseanne where she and jackie mention that he moved in with an Asst. dist. attorney and two kids or something like that.

i dont know what the show was called, but he did leave to start a new comedy show. it didnt last long, i remember it and thought it was funny. but ur right, thats why he left.

Just as well, cause he was annoying on Roseanne. Things were okay in the 6th season, but after Fred and Jackie got married, she really started overacting and her storylines got more ridiculous. In my opinion, Fred killed everything that made Jackie a great character on the show. Even her haircut sucked after the baby was born, and again---gotta blame Fred for that. He just wasn't very likeable.

agreed he irritated the hell out of me....I am so glad they ended his storyline because I didn't care for him at all and his acting was pretty crappy

I can't believe that he annoyed people. I really liked him on the show. One of the most memorable moments is the whole "we know too much" scene w/ him and John Goodman re: their sex lives. LOL.
