Seemed like one of the nicest people ever

Watched two tv specials with him and interviews, and can only conclude that he seemed like a genuine human being.

Only came out very late in his life as I recall for being gay. And it bothered him.

But he will always be fondly remembered as Gomer Pyle on the Andy Griffith show.

He was always the first guest each season of The Carol Burnett Show. The guy could really sing.

Did not know that. Thanks.

I always thought so too. And he did have a great voice. Will have to check, but it sounded like he had an opera trained voice. They used to sell his albums (and 8 track tape sets 🤣) on late night infomercials up until the 1980s. Lots of clips of him singing.

Gooolllly, good ol’ youtube has it:

(I forgot what an 8 track tape looked like, but there’s one at the end of the clip)

You got me down a YouTube rabbit hole... check this one out to show his range:

Man, he hit all the notes while doing comedy. The guy was really incredible.

That was a great performance by Jim Nabors and Carol Burnett

Another good one From Gomer Pyle was when he sang "The Impossible Dream"

Well that explains the soy face in his profile pic.
