Always sad when the only posts on someone's board are R.I.P threads.
Not that I posted anything here before, but still, it's sad.

shareAgreed.
shareI agree.
Strangely enough I made a Laverne and Shirley reference yesterday at work. My entire group moved to a new office building and as we were all unpacking at our new desks I said "this is like when Laverne and Shirley moved from Milwaukee to California". RIP Laverne, you made an impact on my world of pop culture.
I'm sure there were several posts on here before IMDb purged a lot of them in February of 2017. I clearly remember seeing a bunch that went back a good 10+ years or so.
But anyhow, R.I.P. Penny Marshall. I was never a fan of "Laverne & Shirley" (1976 - 1983), but liked their guest appearances on "Happy Days" (1974 - 1984).
I heard a short obit on the radio, and they played this bit from Laverne and Shirley.
Laverne: One good thing about being unemployed is we might meet a Doctor at the Unemployment Office.
Shirley: Why would a Doctor be at the Unemployment Office?
Laverne: ... He cured everybody !

She entertained us and showed us that you don't have to conquer your insecurities before you can succeed.. as long as you have a little chutzpah...
"I'm not an articulate person, but I have a strange combination of insecurity and fearlessness," Penny Marshall
She was the first woman to direct a film that grossed over 100 million dollars. Before that she starred on one of my TV faves, Lavern & Shirley. One of the best theme songs ever...
"Give us any chance, we'll take it
Read us any rule, we'll break it
We're gonna make our dreams come true
Doin' it our way
Nothin's gonna turn us back now
Straight ahead and on the track now
We're gonna make our dreams come true
Doin' it our way
