She was wonderful. I think she is such a natural in front of the camera, especially because she is so soft spoken and has such a quiet demeanor...there is nothing showy or fake about her. The scene where she is using the little tool the son invented, checking the size and nearness of Melancholia, checking her watch expecting it to recede and put her mind at ease, then seeing it coming closer and so much larger than the viewfinder. Her panic was palpable even without her uttering a word. I thought Kirsten Dunst has finally lived up to all the promise she showed in Interview with The Vampire;she was fantastic, but it's Charlotte's performance that really knocked me out.
