She doesn't "own" the role, I think she did well with Brosnan but I don't think the connection works quite well with Craig and Dench except for the very last second of Quantum of Solace
I don't feel the character of M should be terrorized as much as it is

And I love Dame Judi Dench as M. She brings a touch of class, a dash of sexy, an unbeatable acting pedigree, and she has more chemistry with DG's Bond than any of the "Bond Girls" they've paired him with. If anything she fits this new incarnation of Bond better than she did the last cycle.
So you can take your assumptions about what "Americans" want, and shove it clean up your ass. I'd be embarrassed to have you speak on behalf of what any Bond fans want, much less for all of America.
