Sorry to ruffle feathers, but Del Toro was right to walk after being low-balled. Like Nick Nolte has said, if you're going to be a whore, be a high-priced whore. Why jump at one particular evergreen nerd property when every studio today has an obnoxious franchise they're trying to prop up with some A-list actors.

reply

A list actor? Maybe in 1995. By today's standards probably B.

you are a dickhead, don't worry.

Del Toro was in no way an A list actor in 1995,the year of his mini-breakthrough,The usual suspects. He was A-list between Traffic,2000 and it probably paused around the Wolfman 2010,he was billed Before Hopkins after all. Today, with his whoring and wasted opportunities, yeah, upper B sounds right. He is alot more then he has become.

He is an Academy Award winning actor and that elevates him to A-List status. He was basically just starting out in 1995. He actually made his film debut in 1988 in "Big Top Pee Wee" as Duke The Diog-faced Boy.

If you check his Filmography here, you will see how many films he has been working on here of late.

If anyone should have a high-asking price, it should be him. He is a very skilled actor; one of the best of his generation. Can you think of anyone else today who is better??

reply

Why can't he choose for himself which parts he wants to take regardless of the reasons? The public seems to complain when actors/actresses are picky about the roles they take AND those who will take ANY part just to have a work (ie. Eric Roberts comes to mind).

You choose what you are willing to do and at what price. Why can't he?
