Thank God - so are #metoo and conservatives in the same hate group now?

It was so heartbreaking to see an old man forced to suffer like that because of our medieval justice system.

To think that you can be convicted for something that someone thinks you did 30 years ago when the evidence is nothing other than the accuser's complaints. We know from the Salem Witch Trials that women and especially young women are given this power in our society to destroy people's lives and even have them be killed because of their fictional testimonies (ie. witches aren't real). So #metoo go f yourself.

And as much as conservatives think they hate #metoo I bet you ANYTHING they are conflicted and think an 80+ year old man should have been in prison because of something that may or may not have happened 40 years ago JUST because he's black. Despite what CNN says this is a victory for American law and human kind.

So may or may not. So either way the evil Republicans are wrong eh.

You're a bleeping idiot.

""""because he's black"""""

Again, you're a bleeping idiot.

The biggest idiots are those that throw howling insults and cannot even back up their position with any reasoning. Go back to your video games.

reply

i've always thought it was wrong that he was convicted. imo, he was convinced not because he was black, but because he said that young black should pull up their pants.

Calling out bad behavior in blacks, is taboo in our society. Even being black couldnt' save him.

reply

Yeah there are many angles to this. It's being black that sent him to prison so cut the crap. Incarceration rates/proportion is far higher for blacks than for others for the same crimes.

reply

This is exactly what happened. Cosby spoke against the poisonous hip-hop and rap culture that is killing the black community and he was punished for doing so. Anyone who thinks Conservatives want him jailed just for being black is a total moron. Cosby didn't deserve prison at all.

reply

It's because he's black. Tell us why does Trump run free? Because he's not black. The justice system is still the branch of the government run by the fascists.

Especially since it's so easy for gold diggers to jump on the bandwagon for money and fame by making up similar accusations like the first plaintiff. And the US justice system caters to gold diggers with ridiculously high compensations for injuries. It's an open invitation for ambulance chasers.

From your implication that conservatives are racist, you sound just as bad as the MeToo witch hunters (and huntresses #inclusion), making vilifying accusations that don't hold up to scrutiny. The MeToo mob and the "everything is racist" mob are two sides of the same woke coin.

reply

Conservatives embody racism. To play that down is completely ridiculous. To pretend you're not is hilarious. They are racist above all else and secondly they hate the poor. No I am nothing like the witch hunters, the conservatives are however, the way they treat minorities, especially Muslims including US citizens. They were literally torturing people ("waterboarding") and sending them off to be tortured (Extraordinary rendition - see movie by the same name https://moviechat.org/tt0826613/Extraordinary-Rendition) just as they did to the innocents accused of being witches.

Damn it I hate teaching high school.

" The MeToo mob and the "everything is racist" mob are two sides of the same woke coin."

What I am saying is not in this case. The #metoo mob is exactly on the same side as the conservative racist and Obsession With Crime and Punishment coin.

reply

Actually Conservatives & Independents aren't racist (generally speaking); they judge others based on their character rather than the color of their skin. LIEberals are the true racists because they judge people by the color of their skin and are obsessed with race -- constantly slandering others as "RACIST" unjustly, like you just did. In other words, you're RACIST.

(The truth hurts, I know).

"Conservatives embody racism. To play that down is completely ridiculous. To pretend you're not is hilarious."

That's cute. You not only just gave the unsupported accusation that conservatives are racist (again) but you also gave the unsupported accusation that I'M a racist. Based on the evidence of... what exactly? Me having said keywords that you've gotten used to prematurely associating with racism?

Look. I'm not trying to be antagonistic here. I understand your perspective. Hell, I'm a liberal (or at least I thought I was). I shared your sentiments throughout the majority of my existence (up until about a year or two ago). It was difficult not to, considering all of the movies and TV shows I watched, the famous people I listened to, the news outlets I trusted (that historically had seemed vastly more rational and pro-science than the conservative ones). But you're simply wrong here. Conservatives are people just like anyone else. They're not this racist caricature you're painting them as. Half of America is conservative. And half of America is most certainly not racist. At least not going by any good data that anyone knows of.

Neither them nor the left is either evil or good. They're just two tribes constantly getting carried away in groupthink and overeaggerated vilification of the other. Which you've just given a good example of.

reply

Truth:

I'm not "extreme right." I'm generally Conservative, but technically Independent. I know myriad Conservatives, Libertarians and Independents and yet I've never met one "white supremacist" in my life.

Trump's not a "purveyor of hate speech" but rather a bold purveyor of the simple truth, which Lefties don't like and therefore slander him and basically anyone remotely right of the Leftwing (in other words, anyone who's not brainwashed "woke").

Conservatives, Libertarians & Independents don't have an issue with Mexicans & Latin Americans immigrating to America. Speaking as part-Abenaki, we have a problem with the one's who disregard our immigration laws and illegally enter the USA. There's nothing "racist" about this position. Our understandable attitude toward potential immigrants whatever their skin-color is simple: Respect our laws, enter the country lawfully, become a productive member of society and be blessed; otherwise stay the phukk out.

reply

Libertarians, if they are truly liberal as their name intends & Independents don't have an issue with Mexicans & Latin Americans immigrating to America. However conservatives who are the antithesis of all that is American, do.

Trump is the purveyor of hate speech. Sorry. Can't argue with the rabbi. It's because of Trump racially motivated attacks went up in 2017-2020.

reply

Obviously your ideas about Conservatives (and anyone right of the loony Left) are based on the propaganda you have gulped down from CNN (Counterfeit News Network) and MSDNC. Absurd. You don't live in the real world, my friend, but the fantasy realm of LIEberal idiotology.

reply

*sigh*

Ya know, I remember not long after Trump's election (when I was still calling him Biff Tannen and bemoaning the apocalypse he'd bring), I randomly came across a montage of videos of him mocking various people. He was making a childish retarded-guy voice and flailing his hands around during his "impressions" of all of them. I couldn't believe this clown had become the most powerful man on earth. And while rolling my eyes at this buffoonery (fueling my hate with confirmation bias) it occurred to me: "Wait. That's the same thing he was doing while making fun of that disabled reporter that time". I'd remembered that incident well because I often cited it to people as evidence for how awful and heartless he was. And every "authority" that I respected (and usually agreed with) also said that's what he was doing. But at that moment I realized that apparently no. He wasn't mocking that reporter for his disability. He was just doing his default "dumb guy" impression to insult someone. Only this time he just happened to do it to a guy that fit the description.

Yet I never saw a correction about this anywhere. I never saw respected people and media change their tune about it once seeing the evidence. It's as if no one cared about the truth unless it fit the character arc they already expected. And this type of thing, I found, was a daily occurrence. A daily distortion.

Similarly, I was on board with that "evidence of racism" of him calling Mexicans "criminals and rapists". Yet, again, upon closer evaluation, it was obvious that the comment was merely evidence that he believes many criminals arrive in the US by illegally crossing the border. Whether that's true or not is besides the point. The point: that's not a racist opinion.

So, when I see articles that begin by citing things like that, the disability guy, or a long list of other misrepresentations, I have trouble trusting anything else the source says. Because if they can't even get these simple things right...

reply

Agreed up to a point. Two thoughts:

■ You're using the term "conservative" the way it used to be years ago, when it was synonym with "Tea Party" and such. That's fine, but it can be misleading in a modern context. Nowadays, "conservative" and "far right" are used to label anybody who is not a woke.

■ When it comes to Muslims, there's a difference between individual and society. You can get along with an individual who is a Muslim, and still think that allowing massive Muslim immigration (which means importing Muslim cultural values into your society) is a terribly bad idea. The same applies to other ethnic groups with similar consideration (blacks, Hispanics, etcetera).

reply

■ Since when is the "Tea party" "years ago"? You speak of it like it is a long time ago. Did you just graduate high school or something? They've simply morphed into the Proud Boys and they still carry the snake "don't tread on me" flag. Same thing different name.

A rose is a rose.

■ First they came for the Muslims....

reply

[Tea Party] They've simply morphed into the Proud Boys and they still carry the snake "don't tread on me" flag. Same thing different name.

Tea Party were Christian Traditionalists. Proud Boys are American Nationalists. You can't tell apart between ideologies. It seems that you just place all them together under the label of "evil things", which is a symptom of a highly religious mindset.

First they came for the Muslims

Well, history actually teaches the opposite. It's the Muslims the ones that use to come for the rest.

reply

That is something I have noticed recently, ie that way that liberalism seems be operating more like a religion, and a fairly rigid and intolerant one, than a political movement.

AND, more specifically with the label thing. Liberals talk a lot about how "generalizations bad", but it seems that they do it wrong. Generalizations are where you START thinking, not where you END thinking.

AND god forbid you have overlapping groups, or subsets, their gears lock up.

reply

Agreed.

Generalizations and stereotypes are useful. They're basically averages, and the average is often the best starting point, until you have better information. I think that applies to almost every field in life.

And yeah, you're right, they talk about them "being bad", while at the same time can't seem to be able to go beyond it. Psychological projection, maybe?

reply

Indeed. You know when #metoo (white)feminists & (white) so called conservatives/casual white supremacists are on the same page, it's inevitably going to be at the expense of a black man being railroaded. But let's not get it twisted. There were also plenty of mainstream (white) liberals in the media & blue check Twitter that were piling on the Cosby witch hunt just as much as the far right.

reply

"There were also plenty of mainstream (white) liberals in the media"
keywords: "in the media". The media is corporate, right of center convincing you it is liberal. All of it is owned by a small handful of corporations paid for by corporate advertising dollars that decide and even force censorship.

reply

Fair enough but be that as it may, I'm just going by the many people who you see calling themselves "liberal" Apart from that I didn't recall seeing any of these "true" good white liberals exactly calling out the bullcrap. I guess they were just really quiet about it.

reply

Your ideas about conservatives are based on the propaganda you have swallowed from MSNBC and CNN. Ludicrous. I am extremely happy that Cosby is free. Never should have been imprisoned in the first place. He was only attacked because his opinions on cleaning up black culture were unpopular with the Left.

reply

Sorry I cancelled cable long ago and do not watch television. Your ignorance about conservatives is propaganda you have swallowed from the MSM and Fox.

My ideas about conservatives is a lifetime of experience with them, knowledge of history, knowledge of wars, especially WWII, Operation Paperclip, etc... and eyewitness personal accounts as well as a global consensus amongst well almost everyone on the planet of who conservatives are.

The only people who have wool pulled over their eyes are the broke ass or young-dumb-full-of-cum adolescent white males who don't know whether they are coming or going and play too many video games. It is a constant cliche. The rest are the rich elite that pull your marionette strings.

Look if you don't believe me, get on a plane and GO SOMEWHERE FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE, say Netherlands. It won't take long before you're set straight. Travel is the ultimate education.
