Could she have become a noted director without nepotism?

Just wondering... She never went to film school and had minimal filmmaking experience before The Virgin Suicides -- which, of course, was produced by her father. Sigh.

Film school sucks anyway from what I heard,going to film school alone cant get you a job you have to actually make short films first, then use them as a demo reel to get a feature bankrolled. or know someone who is in the industry.
