Performance in Temple of Doom is unforgivable

Singlehandedly ruined the movie, and I will never forgive her for it.

I don't give her all the credit for ruining the movie, but yeah, she was pretty bad. The story could have been quite a bit better as well.

Quit whinin', ladies. She was goddamn sexy in that movie and still is. How can you criticise such a total hottie? Man, she's sexy!

It's not the years, honey; it's the mileage.

I thought the story was quite all right. I mean, it's no masterpiece, I'll give you that. But it fulfills its part for darker sequel with a supernatural plot, which every Jones movie has.

I agree with most criticisms that Capshaw's Willie Scott could've been better written and didn't need to whine and scream constantly.

However, I do feel she had some great moments in the picture. Her opening sequence of singing "Anything Goes" is just superb and a great introduction. I also love the "Five Minutes" sequence when her and Indy are hella horny and try to out wait each other only to have the romance interrupted by the Thuggee asassin. Just a brilliantly directed scene. You also gotta love the shot during the minecar ride where she punches the Thuggee off the cart.

And I did enjoy her cleavage in her wet sacrifical costume at the end of the film.

Now as for the criticisms regarding Temple having a weak plot, I have to disagree. Sure the story wasn't as substantial as Raiders (and Crusade), but it was a nice way of being a prologue to Raiders. It was interesting showing Indy in a crazy, outworldy adventure where he changes from a greedy mercernary type (like Belloq) and then evolves into the more rational guy we see in Raiders. Besides, in Raiders and Crusade they pretty much covered everything else about his character origins so I was cool with Temple giving us lots of non-stop action/adventure scenes.

Actually I think she was the best Indy girl in all three films. I never quiet got what Indy saw in Marian, and Elsa's story speaks for itself. Willie was the Han Solo of Temple of Doom, questioning the very sense of the whole picture and counterbalancing the general crazyness of the Kali cult.
As for Kate's acting, I give you that it was a bit extreme but I liked it. She nailed the part and she was the best comedy relief of all the films.
All a matter of taste for sure. :)

I agree. She was the best Indy girl of the entire series. I was hoping she'd return for Indy IV.
