What in the hell happened to this poor lady? Does anyone know? Her looks are totally inconsistent with her age. She can only be about 54(now) or so, based on what she said in a DVD background documentary, yet she looks like 70! Did she have a disease of some sort? It's awful. I remember her from "Eight is Enough", and from "Carrie", and I always thought she look very nice. She is only 3-4 years older than the other young actors from that movie, as she pointed out. A few of the girls from that movie aged very well. It was a huge contrast.

A couple of things, #1 she is a smoker which ages you ahead of your time. #2 she has never dyed her hair like most actresses her age. If you look at most women her age walking down the street they look similar. But actresses as well as actors are quite vain and try to keep that illusion going to get roles. Simply put Betty doesn't care. She hasn't tried to hide anything which is actually kind of admirable in her profession. But the smoking hasn't helped. But I think she still looks good just like an average 59 year old.
