29 when she did Carrie!?!
IMDB says she was born in 1947 and Carrie came out in 1976 which means she was 29 when she did that movie. Or more likely 28! She looked a lot older than that, didn't she?
Spacek also did the role without any makeup which made her look younger. Sissy was also one of the best actresses around and her acting made her look the part. Betty was playing a teacher and would have looked ridiculous trying to look 17. They also gave Betty an older hairstyle and makeup.
