How come this guy can't drive?

I've read in a few different articles that this guy doesn't know how to drive, and had some small driving scene in Vicky Cristina Barcelona where he had to practice driving for days and then afterwards still didn't really know how.

I didn't know it was possible to get around without being able to drive. I mean I guess if you really really love huge cities, but even then in LA you can't get anywhere without a car.

Doesn't make any sense to me.

Hes an alright actor though, no disrespect to the guy, I am just confused as to how you can get by for so long without driving yourself around.

To answer your question OP.....he has said himself he doesn't like cars, he says he's scared of them. He thinks they're like bullets . He said he's not bothered by planes, helicopters or ships, just cars.

Here's the interview: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-ubO1SgJRs&feature=related about the 4:40 mark he gets asked if he has learned to drive and he explains why he hasn't.

That said, Javier is a great actor.

Javier is one of the greatest living actors working today. If you think that he is just okay then, yes, you are not familiar with his work.

As far as his not driving goes, I don't drive either. I took lessons and didn't like it. It would be much better if less people drove.

Yes, it is true that most people only know him from NCFOM. And it is a great performance and he deserved the Oscar for it. But the other performance you mentioned virginialover are just as good.

I can't wait to see Biutiful, Eat Pray Love and the Malick film!!
