Catwoman stunt video?
Where can I see Sean's Catwoman stunt? I found a couple of videos, but they had no sound. Can anyone help me out?

shareyeah im looking too they have no sound
sharecant find it anywhere. ugh.
shareI haven't seen the video and don't know exactly what was said, however, I dont see what the big deal is.
Would her actions have been seen as strange if the stunt had gotten her the part? Nope, if fact, she may of been commended for being "proactive".
When Otto Preminger was casting "Carmen Jones", Dorothy Dandridge was not even on the "short list". She burst into his office, (getting past his secretary)dressed in a Carmen-like skirt, and flower in her hair. Speaking character, she told him why the role should be her's.. she got the part.
Believe it or not, that is not usual in Hollywood. I believe if it was not for the fact that role required more-or-less a Halloween outfit... her actions would not of been seen as strange.
Now if she showed up dressed like a superhero while trying to get the role of Sophie in "Sophie's Choice".... that would be another story.
Sigourney Weaver did a similar thing to get them to rewrite Ghostbusters so that she could play a terror dog.
So if SW hadn't been successful, would she be in receipt of the same ridicule as Sean?

shareThe sad thing about the Catwoman incident w/ Sean Young is that I firmly believe that she was being sincere (and not aware that we’re “laughing at her instead of with her”). What I mean is that it wasn’t like some sort of piece of performance art a la Andy Kaufman. It made it look like she was “owed” the Catwoman role to make up for losing the Vicki Vale role to Kim Basinger due to injury from the first Batman movie.
shareJust watched the video & you're exactly right. The silliness of the costume was NBD, it was the Joan Rivers show. It'd be weird if she wasn't acting goofy.
What's off-putting is that she seemed completely serious about "deserving" the role. In the next segment, they brought in some pop-psychiatrist to praise her as an ambitious woman who went after what she wanted. True enough but she needs to be smart about it. Airing a list of grievances won't make people want to work with you. It gives them a valid reason to refuse to work with you.
I'm not too familiar with comic books. But I always got the impression that Catwoman was a femme fatale; aloof but irresistible. Any cruelty was incidental. Young came off as desperate and a woman scorned. More manipulative & vindictive, like Poison Ivy.
I looked up some of Sean Young's credits on IMDb. She wasn't even top billed in the shitty low budget direct to video movie. Most of the top billed cast don't even have photos on IMDb. She's in the same position as the actor friend of [R192], maybe a worse position.share
It wasn't the stuff with Woods that did the most damage to her career, she got work after that. It was the Catwoman stuff. She made cringe inducing appearances on TV demanding the role. She snuck onto the studio lot and demanded the director see her. The general public were laughing at her and I expect so were industry people. She defended this behavior as being some kind of feminist act. She didn't have the good sense to try and laugh it off rather than doubling down. Even if she'd had a great reputation before that it would have been a career killer. I think she thought that since she got replaced in the first Batman (due to an injury during rehearsals) that she was destined to play Catwoman.
