When was the last time she made a good movie?

She was great in Walk the Line, it might have actually been her best performance because she was something other than a hyper-organized cutesy girl, which even includes Election -- Election worked because she took it to psychopathic ends. That kind of typecasting has kind of dominated her career, including even recent efforts like Big Little Lies and Little Fires Everywhere.

She also did too many romcom type films.

She needs more roles that don't allow her to be perky, super-organized and cute. Something where she's kind of dangerous.

TV is the way to go these days, and she was great in Big Little Lies

When you go to her IMDb page it's her producer credits that appear first and there is about 10 in-process/in-planning projects. Maybe being in front of the camera is not her priority these days?

I saw this question and was going to answer Just Like Heaven. Then I realized that was 2005. So I looked and realized the latest movie I've seen her in was Wild which was seven years ago.
