Based upon the early sci-fi, I was a fan, then his 80's and 90's output was average in my view, until Gladiator and Black Hawk Down.
I should have liked Robin Hood , BR 2049 and Kingdom of Heaven but they were just plain boring and jumbled, and the late Alien films have been below par.
Shame as he does have talent.
His 90's was pretty much wasted, with exception of Thelma & Louise and 1492. But he has done plenty of good movies since then. He got his shit together with Gladiator after the poor 90's.
