A little bit of my childhood died today

As someone born in the 80s and growing up with movies like Ghostbusters, when I heard the news that Harold had passed away, I really feel like a part of my childhood died today. I remember having all of the Ghostbusters toys and running around the playground playing Ghostbusters with my friends. His movies and comedic style offered something for everyone young and old, and I appreciate them as much now, if not more so than I did when I was a kid. Thank you Harold, rest in peace.

I feel you. The same goes for Michael Jackson, Lady Di, Patrick Swayze and all the other 80s icons that have died. Guess we have to get used to it.

I hear ya man.I think about it everyday.ramis has been the hardest hit to me personally.I'm coming to realise my childhood hero's in music and movies won't be around forever, and in 20 years I won't have a damn thing in common with anyone.

Kids, teens (hell, 20-somethings) don't seem to even know Ghostbusters. Or what a Super Nintendo is. Or what tapes have to do with watching movies. :-P

I actually think that Ghostbusters has secured it's place in pop culture. Parents show it to their kids and the Internet brings the generations closer together than you would think. Look at how many young kids like bands from the 60s and 70s. When I was a child, that was considered 'dad music'.

Another thing, even when a celebrity dies, their work isn't going to go anywhere. That will always be around and so will the memories.

OOM POM PAH OOM POM PAH thats how it goes...

I went into thrift shop and I saw the clerk show 2 kids the Sega Game Gear. The kids asked him "What's Game Gear?". That make me feel so old!
