Wow, another Hollywood douchebag who traded in his wife for a younger model!

I used to think Ron Perlman was the very opposite of Hollywood douchebaggery, but no. It turns out that he's no different. This guy did the typical Hollywood thing of ditching is wife for a young chippie. If the other woman had been around his age, it would be understandable, but no--he traded up, just like Mel Gibson.

The problem that I have with what you're saying is you stated " If the other woman had been around his age, it would be understandable" Seems you lack conviction, if it's wrong, it's wrong, no matter the circumstances, which is the way I feel about it. But you're stating for the record that "I'm mad that he did this, but wouldn't be so mad if he did that"

Ditching your spouse for a PYT or a lady that happens to be your own age is all the same in my book, but I guess you see it differently. If it's disagreeable, then it's disagreeable no matter what which is why I said that you lack conviction.

Try to keep up.

If he had found someone else around his age to hook up with, we can imagine that maybe he split with his wife was mutual (irreconcilable differences) and wanted another mature relationship to replace theirs with. But because she is so young and a typical starlet type, that suggests that the only reason why he broke up with her was to trade in.

I looked her up at the IMDB and she's so little known that she doesn't even have a birth date or mini-bio, so yeah. She's just another Katherine McPhee, basically, a bimbo hooking up with a much older man to gain publicity. Can't believe Perlman is pathetic enough to fall for it, but I guess he is.

Yes and no. Men experience mid-life crisis in their 40s, not 60s. (He is 69.)

It feels like something more pathetic than mid-life crisis. Age-old crisis, maybe? As in the terror of growing old and having no one to take care of you? That's what it seems like to me. By trading in his wife, he doesn't have to worry about what happens when spouses become too old to support each other. His much younger wife will step in as caretaker.

He's rich and has kids. He can buy support and kids tend to help their elderly parents. It could be ego and if he questions his desirability. Of course, it's his money and fame that is really attracting her.

He could've also been unhappy for a while and was too much of a coward to ask for a divorce so he publicly kisses another woman which forces his wife to ask for one.

I miss the old-time tabloids which would've been interviewing employees on the set to find out what they witnessed.

That country has a generous pension system. When the pensioner dies, his current wife will RECEIVE HIS FULL PENSION until she dies.
