Been to Kyiv to visit Zelensky!

This is just crazy:-

Ukraine is in the middle of a war yet the leader has time to take a meeting with Hollywood actor Sean Penn, who presents him with his Oscar statue as a "symbolic" gesture!

You'd have it down as surrealist comedy if it wasn't real...

reply

Knobhead. Giving away a meaningless piece of fucking tat just to remind everyone he still exists.

reply

Indeed.

It's just so spellbindingly idiotic to watch -

"So sorry your country's being destroyed and the people are struggling for electricity and running water. But here's my Oscar statue to help you along!"

reply

"And make sure we get plenty of my salty-plum face in the pics so people know it's all about me."

reply

It's so embarrassing it made me squirm. How full of himself to believe his piece of metal would mean something to other people.

reply

To be fair, Zelensky did put it on the "special" objects desk afterwards... And then he did make some crazy comment about coming to get it back after hostilities are over.

Who knows - perhaps they'll have a huge ceremony in Kyiv come the end of the war, with huge crowds attending, waving flags, and Zelensky symbolically handing back Penn his Oscar to officially mark the end of the War. Soldiers will tell tales of how defending Penn's Oscar from Russian troops kept them going when all seemed lost... 🤷 😂

reply

LMAO. Penn said he wants it back. I hope he gets it back, right up through his battered ring-piece.

reply

Hopefully he can negotiate peace with Putin.

reply

Perhaps Putin could sent Steven Seagal to negotiate from him and then the whole world could applaud these great actors shaking hands on World Peace!

reply

Only actors can achieve world peace! What they do is very important, you know act.

reply

It wasn't mentioned in the article, but the oscar for Mystic River or Milk? I'm curious which one he chose.

If he comes back for it after the war it is less embarrassing actually, than this seems at first sight.
