Why does Hollywood fellate this guy and rebuke Mel Gibson?

All Mel Gibson has ever done is have an angry drunken tirade.

Sean Penn is a vile and disgusting ego maniac. He kidnapped and tortured Madonna for 9 hours. He also beat an extra and only served community service.

I would rather go full retard than go full Sean Penn

With all due respect, being a homophobic, ultra-catholic antisemite might be politically incorrect, but it's not a punishable crime in the court of law. In other words you can hate Gibson for saying he doesn't like gays or jews, but as long as he's only expressing his opinions, it's not a crime, so you can't really count those things as "incidents".
