R.I.P

Sad to hear of his passing. The Commitments is one of my all time favourite movies, will definitely give it a watch over the weekend

RIP. Bugsy Malone is my favourite of his films. I also really liked Mississippi Burning and Fame. I haven't seen The Commitments yet but have been meaning to.

Dang. Evita for me. I had all forgotten about The Commitments. I only remember that I liked it, but its been ages since I last saw it. RIP

RIP. An excellent director!

R.I.P. Midnight Express is my favourite of his films but I also have affection for Bugsy Malone, Shoot the Moon, Birdy and The Commitments.

I have yet to see The Wall.., I think that’ll be my tribute watch.

Birdy seems like a forgotten film these days.
At the time it seemed like a powerful statement, and a director's movie, as opposed to a compromised commercial effort.
No one ever talks about it now.

I lost count how many we've lost this year. List seems endless.

I hope more people will discover "Shoot the Moon "(1982) with Albert Finney and Diane Keaton, an underrated drama about a marriage in dissolution. "Fame" (1980) deserves to be revisited and has something about it that seems gritty and contemporary like a lot of 70s films which inspired it.

Love The Commitments. Every time I have a reason to think about that movie, my life is a little bit happier.
