Actress Glenn Close threw some shade at Gwyneth Paltrow by implying the actress didn’t deserve to win her Oscar award in 1999.

Close claimed Fernanda Montenegro should have won Best Actress during a sit-down virtual interview with ABC News published Tuesday. Paltrow won the award for her role in “Shakespeare In Love.

“I remember the year Gwyneth Paltrow won over that incredible actress who was in ‘Central Station,'” Close said, “and I thought, ‘What?’ It’s like, you know, it doesn’t make sense".

Someone is saying the quiet part loudly. "Shakespeare in Love" is so forgettable as a film and there was nothing amazing about Gwyneth's performance. I think many people in Hollywood were upset that she won because her career hasn't been the same.

An Oscar winner is now doing a lifestyle blog and selling items that smells like her V? It doesn't make sense. I feel Gwyneth not doing movies isn't her choice. I feel like she got dumped. It's like the Hollywood guards told her, "you undeservedly won that Oscar but you won't have longevity because we know the truth".

Well..... she's right that Shakespeare in Love is forgettable, except that it won a bunch of awards that it shouldn't have. But at the same time, who the hell is Fernanda Montenegro, and what the hell is Central Station?

The only reason this A- list mostly movie actress (Gwyneth Paltrow) with the lucrative side gig ("GOOP") won an Oscar is because of who she slept with. I liked ' Shakespeare in Love ' and I thought Gwyneth Paltrow was great in it. Better than Cate Blanchett in ' Elizabeth ' ? Probably not but you know Hollywood.

And who cares if Paltrow stole the role from Winona Ryder ? After all she is a much better actress so it was all for the best.
