She needs to take RISKS!

Gwyneth Paltrow is an Oscar-winning actress who doesn't take risks! She is not getting challenging roles or interesting projects.

Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for a normal role but gave an Oscar winning performance in Gravity.
Reese Witherspoon gave a decent performance in Wild...those normal actresses paid their Oscars, but Gwyneth stil in debt.

I love her, she is magnetic, I've seen almost all her films and I like her screen presence. She was really good in "The Proof". She needs to take a great role and show that she still in the business and maybe pull out a good performance to score an Oscar nomination to pay the Oscar she got.

I agree that she needs to take risks....let's send her over Niagara Falls in a barrel.

Exactly! She isn't considered for any of the good roles for women out there because she has never had any box office appeal. She never really was leading lady material in my opinion. She is simply too plain and has been told this many times by powerful producers in the industry.

I have to disagree. She was a great lead in Emma and Sliding Doors, much better than she was in Shakespeare in Love. She was also excellent in The Royal Tenenbaums. All three are very different films and roles.

She just peaked too early and then became too insufferable with her public persona.

I think Country Strong was pretty risky, but it didn't pay off. Not because of her performance, I think the the ensemble of Meester, Hedlund, McGraw and Paltrow were quite good in that movie, but the direction/story fell flat.

I also thought she was very good in Two Lovers, with Joaquin Phoenix. I actually thought she might get nominated for a supporting actress oscar for that role. Terrible character, but she played it perfectly, imo.

I understand why people are annoyed by her public persona, but I've always thought she was a good actress.

I haven't seen Two Lovers. She's definitely one of those actors that's known more and disliked for her public persona.

She definitely has it in her. I actually think she deserved Oscar nods for both Proof and Sylvia.
