Gwyneth Paltrow: I was a rich kid, until I was 18

Gwyneth Paltrow wants you to know she’s a self-made woman. “People think, ‘She’s just a rich kid.’ Until I was 18, I was. Then I was broke,” the 43-year-old goop founder said in the March issue of Glamour magazine.

“I’ve never taken a dime off my parents,” the mother of two revealed. “I’m completely self-made … I went to UC Santa Barbara, and when I quit to try to be an actress, my dad [Bruce Paltrow] was like, ‘That’s great, but I’m not gonna help you.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, right.’ And he was like, ‘No, I’m not.’ So I got an apartment with a roommate; I worked as a hostess at a restaurant; I would scrounge quarters to buy Starbucks — and walk there to save gas. I remember once asking my dad for money, like, ‘Please, I’m really stuck. Can you help?’ And he said, ‘You’re more than welcome to come over for dinner.’ That was it. Those were the days. Enough to know the value of money.”

As someone who has struggled financially, Paltrow can’t deal with complaints about the high-priced items on her lifestyle website. “Sometimes I’ll get annoyed if someone’s like, ‘goop is so expensive.’ I’m like, ‘Have you looked at the website? Have you seen the range of price points? ’Cause we sell things that are $8,’” she ranted. A survey of the site delivered home items ranging from $35 to $750, while handbags range from $58 to $2,000.

“I’m like, ‘If you want to f–k with me, bring your A-game,” she added. “At least have all your information.’ Once in a while, if I’m exhausted and overwhelmed, I’ll be like, ‘Ugh, that bugs me,’ or, ‘That hurt my feelings.’ But very rarely. I don’t lose sleep over it.”

I am a lioness. I will not cringe for them.

Oh please. Lots of people that have it tough are buying Starbucks. there is a reason why there is a Starbucks on every corner and all over the world. It's because people are buying coffee when they should instead be making it a home.

And how would you know who would be able to stomach her? Are you in her life and know who her friends are? And lets not forget that Chris Martin could stomach her for 10 years and when they split he went into a deep depression over it. His bandmates were really worried for him at the time.
