shareHe's like Brad Pitt. He's a really good actor but he mainly sticks to acting as himself with subtle differences between characters. Many people fail to realise how acting doesn't necessarily require you to be unrecognisable all the time and play different personalities all the time. It's about putting yourself in the shoes of the character and experiencing what they experience, in a convincing way. Johnny Depp, who always wears different makeup and costumes in every role, works in a particular style and that's cool. But Neeson follows a different style.
shareWhat I've come to like about Neeson's acting, after seeing him in action and drama films over the past few years, is that even in the tough guy roles, he brings a vulnerability to them that makes his characters way more than just some one-note stereotype. Like in A Walk Among The Tombstones (one of his best drama films to date, besides the equally good The Grey and Run All Night) he plays a man who is still struggling with his present, because he's haunted by his past--his character often come off as real men with real problems they have to deal with--they're worn out, but still tough.
shareActually, I beg to differ with you. I think Liam Neeson is one of the finest actors around! He shines in every rôle.

And by doing so ends up playing the same character over and over again.
I was just thinking the other day, that I hope he does many more no idea like non stop, taken, where he's this bad ass can do it all character. Him and tom cruise need more of these films, same character different scenarios that only get better.
