Rose is what happens when you take a lot of dik to make it in hollywood and your career still tanks cause you're a shitty actor afterall, and when you hit 40 and now you can't fkk your way to a movie part cause nobody wants your used up snatch so you become bitter and start accusing everyone of rape. Am i in the ballpark here?
Why so disrespectful, brah? She had a hard life before acting and has a decent filmography. She's no longer in her physical prime, but that happens to everyone (unless they die young).
She boldly blew the whistle on so-and-so and the abusive bastage got what he deserved. Kudos!
Lastly, everyone has skeletons in their closet. You know what that makes 'em? Human.
No one really wants to address the elephant in the room. Namely, that women are also part of this problem. To pretend they haven't spent decades offering 'services' is moronic.
When people are young & dumb they do stupid things, whether to "get ahead" or whatever. We've all done foolish things for dubious reasons that we wouldn't have done if we could go back in time.
But this doesn't change the heinous criminality of women having to give-in sexually to arrogant, manipulative scum in order to make & maintain a decent living in the acting biz.
This comes down to being on one of two sides: (1.) The rich ugly bastages who use their power in the business to have sex with beautiful women they wouldn't otherwise likely attract or (2.) the women who were/are taken advantage of in their less enlightened youth by manipulative older swine. I stand with #2. And, no, I'm not saying the latter have zero responsibility in what went down. But no one should feel compelled to have sex with someone they don't want to in order to make a living in any business.
Yeah. Sure. We women are taught that we don't have to spread our legs for anything. Then we get into the real world, where people in positions of power pretty much let us know that if we don't, we're done. That is just another form of rape, even if you don't see it that way.
The voice of truth! My wife was employed as a general manager in a local company; as soon as she said '(hell) no' to the advances of the owner in 2013 she was forced out. In other words, this isn't just a Hollywood thang.
It's irrelevant. Workers in any profession shouldn't have to blow time & money on legal battles or suffer the unwanted sexual advances of power-drunk snakes and the corresponding threats/slander/blacklisting.
its still within the 10 year legal recourse limit.... and that seems to not matter anymore. Go for it! Lawyer up! Whether you like it or not, bad stuff exists on this planet. We can't WISH it away. Nor can we LEGAL it away either - obviously, since CRIME still exists everywhere.
Gone are the days of chest beating and dragging a buffalo home to impress and nail a mate.... replaced with corner offices and BMWs. We reap what we sow. Its our NATURAL EVOLUTION. :)
Sometimes, it is not worth the time, effort, and resources after such a long period of time.
It is like someone spending 500K in lawyer fees to sue over the loss of 50K.
i do fully agree with you. the other guy was bringing it up like there is nothing they could do, when really there WAS plenty could have been done. maybe not now...
and yet, as long as there is no PHYSICAL rape, it remains a CHOICE.
hell, over half of all marriages is "money for sex" arrangement. ever see women clamoring to marry the POOR guys? Nope :D
Don't misunderstand my replies... like any normal, respectful human, I am FULLY AGAINT rape, women having to make those choices, and people abusing their positions. But there is still more at play here than: Man bad, woman gooood and vice versa
And regardless how I conduct myself (against the things above) there are still other bad people in the world, doing bad things, and that is the root of our discussion.
If I was a young actor in Hollywood...and an older female exec invited me to her penthouse to “discuss a part in a movie”.....and she had a reputation for being a cad....and I understood by going up there, it would land me an opportunity for a great role and millions of dollars...I’d probably do it, and so would most people. It’s a quid pro quo...but it’s not any kind of forced coercion. It is...a choice. In that scenario....it’s a choice. It’s what nobody is willing to put their cards on the table and honestly discuss, like adults. So we dance around it and victimize and ostracize. To quote a line from “She’s Having a Baby”: “What I’m saying....it’s rude and it’s wrong, but it’s right on”.
And one more thing to consider in my hypothetical: If I WERE to go up to that penthouse.... I’d be using HER...every bit as much as she’d be using me. Think about that.
When there is retribution for turning down the offer...all sorts of lawyers will jump at the opportunity to get the woman (or sometimes man) a promotion and a boatload of cash to go along with it. Just ask Matt Lauer’s “victim”....or Bill O’Rielly’s “victim”, etc, etc.
To suggest victimhood is to suggest these people were stupid. Whether Harvey W’s targets...or targets at any company. The quid pro quo scenario is always a choice (and a major risk for the person in power). Alllll the offeree needs to do is blow the whistle. Look at Les Moonves’s “victim”. She probably owns a yacht now.
Let me guess, in your little parable the "older female exec" is a hot cougar and not an ugly fudge like Weinstein, right?
Alllll the offeree needs to do is blow the whistle.
It's not always that simple, easy or successful; and you know it.
What about the simple right to do your job well and make a decent living in peace without being harassed, threatened and slandered/blacklisted by pompous, manipulative predators? Or backed into a corner to fight draining legal battles you have zero desire to conduct?
Look at Les Moonves’s “victim”. She probably owns a yacht now.
In your world material wealth is the all-and-end-all of life. Good luck with that.
Your posts -- and the spin thereof -- are all about justifying such abusive scum and it's really sick. It's sad that you don't realize this.

The only point being made...is that things aren’t always black or white. Most of what you’ve stated I agree with.
But what you call spin, because it doesn’t mesh with your view, I call...another way of looking at it. Things aren’t always black or white, victim and perp. Sometimes...both are complicit. There’s no point in going any further with this, clearly.
The quid pro quo scenario is always a choice (and a major risk for the person in power).
Yup, he's an outright hero. (Rolling my eyes)
The way you so enthusiastically defend these abusive swine makes me suspect you're one of 'em in your line of work. (No offense, just an educated guess).

You misread that (or perhaps I could say it a bit better)...
The quid pro quo scenario is a choice....(and a ridiculously reckless, stupid and thoughtless risk on the part of the person in power). And incidentally, it's not always a man that is in power.
I'm not enthusiastically defending anyone. But there are grey areas and different ways to look at a situation; different perspectives to bring to the conversation. Just because I raise other perspectives does not necessarily mean I'm in support or agreement with them.
The primary point is that sometimes...both (or either) parties can be complicit. I've known several female friends who have copped to dressing a certain way (and flirting) to leverage their sex appeal to gain advantages in their careers. I don't judge this, either. I do, however....feel there can definitely be grey areas in some of these situations. And (thankfully) there are many protocols and resources in place these days which make many forms of unwanted advances and harassment a very difficult thing for the person in power (male or female) to get away with.
It's been an interesting conversation...but honestly, I'm done. I agree with you more than you may have perceived. It's not always comfortable looking at all angles to a situation. Take care.
I consider her a HUGE hypocrite just like all the other actresses that are successful because they kept their mouths shut and their legs open.
I applaud the ones who said no and spoke up! They are the ones who deserve the best in life. Not Rose McGowan, Gwyneth Paltrow and the many, many others.
Pretty much nailed it sadly. There are absolutely legitimate victims of the corrupt & degenerate Hollyweird system but she's basically the poster woman of the amoral casting couch opportunist, who's now simply bitter with buyer's remorse because she's well over the hill & can no longer leverage her old blown out cooch to make up for her lack of talent to sustain a career. It's about getting a payday.
