Funny Thing About the 'Brat Pack'

First, think of the actors in the same age range who avoided the mainstream movies that the Brat Pack 'acted' in

Sean Penn
Tom Cruise
John Cusack
Matt Dillon
Matthew Broderick

Now compare them to the Brat Pack

Judd Nelson
Andrew McCarthy
Anthony Michael Hall
Emilio Estevez

Notice something? lol

Here's a hint: One group is still relative, still working the A-list, still out in front of the 'pack', and the other list is working the straight to DVD/cable "I'll take anything I can get" jobs

That is with the exception of Emilio, who always wanted to write and direct instead of acting

I remember reading that Andrew McCarthy would be the next Cary Grant
Judd Nelson was supposed to have a career along the lines of Sean Penn

and whodathunk that Anthony Michael Hall would turn out to be effective acting like a menacing bully whack job?

interesting careers, but one that shows where the real talent lies

He wasn't considered a member of the brat pack. Only the people from ST. Elmo's Fire and The Breakfast Club (with the exception of Mare Winningham)
