Tbh, and I don't know about anyone else, but I've always thought that he had never looked 100 percent health wise for a long long time.

Wow, this one's a shock!

He wasn't that old and, as far as I know, wasn't sick.

He was in some great movies and gave some great performances over the years. Goodfellas, Field of Dreams, Copland and Blow were all great roles for him, even if he wasn't the lead.

Sad indeed. Ray was a good actor and I enjoyed many of his roles- especially in Goodfellas and Something Wild.

What's shocking is that he was still working pretty consistently. Fred Ward hadn't been in much for nearly a decade. Really saddening news, within the last month or so I had watched Goodfellas, Killing Them Softly, and A Marriage Story. Really great actor. Wonder if it was drug related?
