Range, range and range...

This guy is in a Ron Howard film or Tim Burton or Quentin Tarantino film and he nails every performance time and time again. No matter how shitty that picture is the performance is amazing.

He's so underrated.

The guy is phenomenal. He's fucking mind blowing.

And yet here we are again. This man gets ZERO credit.

Like Robin Williams his agent should have had the foresight and down-graded his performance from Lead to Supporting.

Spotlight would have won 5 ..

Great movie.

Yeah - check out a mini-series on Hulu called "Dopesick".

Keaton was outstanding, he really shows his range in this one.

Because if you take a look at it, he actually plays 4 different versions of his character. Because of the opioid crisis, the character changes. Won't say any more than that so as not to spoil it for anyone.

ANyway, I came away from "Dopesick" having a new appreciation for the acting talent of Michael Keaton.

ANd in fact, he totally cleaned up at award time - deservedly so.

He should have won an Oscar for Birdman or particularly Spotlight. Glad he won another GG and for Dopesick.

"Michael Keaton is a fast-talking actor, who may be the best in the business at showing you how fast he can think.

He projects smartness, he sees all the angles, he sizes up a situation and acts on it while another actor might still be straightening his tie." Roger Ebert --https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/the-paper-1994

This guy is so underrated it's crazy ass nuts.

reply

Yeah, well, for me....

I never thought much of him as an actor until "Dopesick".

You mentioned "Birdman" and "Spotlight" - yeah, he was good in those - but he really shows his range in "Dopesick" because his character literally becomes four different people during the course of the series.

ANd yes, he cleaned up for "Dopesick" - I believe he won just about everything out there for his performance.

ANyway, we're on the same page. I think, currently, he is one of the best out there. Recent history for me was "Knox Goes Away" - he was good in that , too.

Dopesick is so fucking good! I've watched it two times and I think it's one of the best miniseries ever made. I've always been a fan of Keaton, but he was amazing in Dopesick. Great, heartbreaking performance.

reply

Totally agreed. It's one of my three fave miniseries of all time.

Yeah, I thought Keaton was all right - but "Dopesick" really put him on the map for me. OUtstanding performance.

I liked the little girl, too. I can't think of her name right now (kaitlyn maybe) - she was terrific, too.

Everyone was. Good casting, good story based on truth, very well done.

reply

Yes, Kaitlyn Dever, she was great too. The last few episodes broke my heart.

Agreed. Phenomenal series.
