She should be used as an example drugs are bad
shareEverybody knows that drugs are bad. People sometimes turn to them for relief from pain, stress and problems.
BTW, I haven't forgotten how cruel the "fans" were towards her before Force Awakens was released. Her reply "Please stop debating about whether or not I aged well. Unfortunately, it hurts all three of my feelings."
<< "it hurts all three of my feelings..." >>
Not on heroin, it doesn't!

SW is probably what helped kill her.
Given her personality, the stress of getting back in front of the camera and suffering the withering criticism about her appearance, and knowing she was committed to endure two more films...I can understand why she'd fall back into a comfortable hole.
<< SW is probably what helped kill her. >>
In a sense, it could have been that situation. However, she chose that situation. She didn't need more money, she didn't need more fame, she must have known it would be stressful.
Some addicts are always secretly hoping for tragedy to strike, so they have an excuse to use. For all we know, taking the film commitment was premeditated, in some sense.

I think people were suspecting that's what it may have been when she died because there was a photo of her in her London hotel room before she left to fly back home, and there were empty beer bottles on the nightstand even though she's a recovering addict... as if someone was partying.

she knows how to party

So very sad about the autopsy results, yes.
shareI'd recommend reading the book Postcards From The Edge if you want a real insight into Carrie Fisher's life-long struggle with drug addiction. Great movie too, but the book is much more enlightening about her relationship with drugs.
She died of a disease, like pretty much everyone who doesn't die suddenly or of old age. I don't think any less of her because that disease was addiction.
Nor do I.
shareI read Postcards from the Edge. Sad, and funny. She was a very clever woman.
