jadzia's death in DS9

i've been watching the DS9 series late and i realize that's half the reason i've missed news like this, but if anyone can remember back i would appreciate it.

even if i didn't think Jadzia Dax is the ideal woman, her death at the end of the 6th season of Star Trek DS9 doesn't fit. There was so much for her to do, her marriage with Worf, her connection to all the other characters, it just doesn't fit. I'm convinced the reason she was killed wasn't the writer's idea. Does she have a lover in real life that didn't approve of her role in DS9? Did she lose interest? financial trouble? i would really like to know.

As a matter of fact it was the writers who decided to kill Jadzia.

You see Terry's 6 year contract was up and she decided not to return for the 7th and final season. Even though she asked not to be killed the writers felt it was better for her character.

Personally I did not want her killed, and didn't like the way they did it. If they were going to kill her they should have done it in the episode "Change of Heart". But it was up to them!

Did she ever give an explanation for why she didn't want to come back for the final season?

She never really gave an answer really as far as I know....pretty much that she felt that it was time to move on to something else...that it was her time to leave.

It seemed to me that it had something to do with money. She said one year at the pasedena GrandSlam that she became furious over some "contractual matters" and the very next day after filming her death in ds9 she began filming her first episode of Becker... It was a bit odd. That same day at the convention both she and nikki de boer were on stage together talking about the dax character. Terry seemed somewhat of an egoist when mentioning kissing scenes with Dorn. Nikki on the other hand looked like she didnt appreciate some of her comments.... I dont know. I'm sure Terry is a nice person, but I just have to wonder.... One thing's for certain, both she and nikki are absolutely gorgeous.

I would have killed to have seen them on stage together like that!

About that whole kissing Michael Dorn thing....it make me believe more and more that they (Terry and Michael) had a real life relationship. Although niether of them have admited to it or anything really, I've picked up on things in interviews that just scream it!

Anyway...I could be wrong

Besides she has an AMAZING good looking husband now!

the answer is in $$$$
as you may have noticed on the other thread, she likes the green. i mean sure she wants to get paid but she's not on 'friends'
besides, she never even bared breast in Hellraiser III so to 'hell' with her

:D

I don't believe it was all about $$$...some of it yes but not all.

And what does her not baring her breast have to do with anithing?

From what I understand, she didn't pick up her contract for the last year because she wanted to go do Becker. So, she left DS9 for Becker. Mainly because she wanted to move on and do something different.
