I would have to go for Close Encounters as my favourite of the two, but they are both equally great films.
He is with out a doubt a great actor.

shareI prefer Hooper for sure but Dreyfuss was really good in CEOTTK.
Maybe it comes down to the writing, I thought Jaws was more fast paced and Hooper had a lot of great scenes.
As their own films, Jaws. If it's for Dreyfus' performance alone, Close Encounters.
