I prefer Apocalypse Now, not to mention that I'm one those people who prefers the Godfather Part II over the first film.
Nothing against the first one though, it still is a great movie.

I suspect most people would favour one or other of the first two Godfather films, but as great as those movies are, I find them a little episodic. They're very much in the mould of adaptations of epic novels, like The Lord of the Rings and even Harry Potter, and the Nolan Batman films, whereas I tend to prefer tighter stories set over shorter time-frames (which adhere more closely to Aristotle's classical Unities). Novellas, like Heart of Darkness, upon which Apocalypse Now was based, and short stories tend, IMHO, to make for better movie adaptations than less wieldly, less concise prose. And I just find the atmospheric, occasionally dream-like, and artistically lush Apocalypse Now to be more cinematic.
tough. i like both almost equal
it depend what moods im in but first time i watch godfather 1 and 2 they blow my minds and AP did not have that same level of impacts. but both goat films. some of the greatest ever!!
They're both great, but I gotta go with Apocalypse Now.
shareBoth are great but I give the edge to Apocalypse Now although I think Godfather Part II is better than both of them.
