Explanation Please
Can anyone explain to me why on a movie set a gun being used in that movie would need to have live ammo in it?

It wouldn't, But with the movie filming in the desert people in the movie want to shoot stuff like cans and bottles when not filming.A sloppy made movie can easily have people that can't keep stuff apart.The film has been shooting for 3 weeks and in that time things really can get mixed up with shooting real bullets allowed on the set.
