THE MOST DECENT STAR I EVER MET IN HOLLYWOOD

I went to work at TODD-AO studios as a IATSE union sound technican in 1979. I worked an a number of other studios. I retired in 1992. During that period, I met many great stars on the job. A few are Jack Nicholson, Eddie Murphy, Barbra Strisand, Merle Streep, and Ann-Margret, among many others.

One day in 1980 she drove up behind TODD-AO in a vintage Rolls-Royce (in beauiful condition), parked it herself, and walked in. I happened to be standing around in the back at the time.

I said hello, and before I knew it we had become involved in a very gracious and enjoyable conversation that lasted about 20 minutes. My overall impression of her was that she felt that God was watching over her every minute, and she would never degrade her chances to enter Heaven by being unkind or rude to any of his creatures.

She was simply just about the most decent person I have ever met. Her open interest in sparkling conversation about various fun topics was astounding.

All the while, her perfection of appearance was all the more thrilling. I felt like I was speaking to an angel.

It is my understanding that she has remained loyal to her husband, even though he is very sick, for many decades.

A couple of weeks ago, I watched, for the first time, a DVD of "Carnal Knowledge" The love scenes with Jack Nicholson caused me to have feelings that I did not know that I have. There was something about having met both actors.

At any rate, I continue to have nothing but admiration and respect for this wonderful human being. She is most exceptional in every possible way. If there is a heaven, I have no doubt that she will be issued a front row seat on the clouds.

I've always felt that way about her. She's very underated as an actress.
