Tunisian government calls BS on his Hannibal casting

Denzel Washington's casting as Hannibal in Antoine Fuqua's upcoming Netflix project has drawn criticism from the historical general's home country.

The Tunisian parliament and media have complained about the yet-to-be-titled film's depiction of Hannibal as a Black African.

Parliament member Yassine Mami believes the Carthaginian general's heritage needs to be protected. "There is a risk of falsifying history: we need to take a position on this subject.”

You’d think producers would have learned after the Cleopatra outrage.

Just look at all the people who will argue that Cleopatra was a black African. You can't reason with them.

reply

Cleopatra’s own country says that’s BS.

They only need to pay off one 'historian' to say that those historical figures were definitely black - and then they can do whatever they please.

Any arguments made against it will always be countered with 'look at this bribed (or a BLM activist) 'historian' - he/she says they were black - so buzz off!'

Arabs can be just as racist as anyone else.
