Why is he known for Prisoners?
He's not in the movie at all, did he produce it or something? I'd say he's more known for films like Ted, The Departed, The Other Guys, etc. No diss on Prisoners, it's an amazing movie, just wondering.
shareProducers do have 'clout' and don't "just provide money". It would be an unwise director who ignored the opinions of his backers.
One small eg. - for "The Eagle" the producers told the director that he had to find 2 lead actors with an off-set chemistry to make it work. The director took that advice very much on board and found them. The movie was all the better for it, feel certain.
