Time has taken a toll on this poor woman.

I just watched Border Run, her latest flick and I just couldn't recognize her. Consider she must have done Botox and Nip Tuck or whatever for someone who makes a living on the silver screen, time has done her injustice. :(

Wow, you really don't get it!

If one is already at a disadvantage, how is one feeling entitled? Entitlement comes to those who already have the upper hand. As such, women in Hollywood are not in positions of power to the same extent as men are, so how could they feel entitled? How does women wanting equality equate to feeling entitled?

...men are not counting how many TV films/episodes one by one, to find some sexist-reason to feel discriminated against. Men don't feel a need to whine and point fingers--they accept such things better because they are not spoiled and self-entitled like certain females are over such matters.

Oh, please, there are plenty of men who feel entitled! I worked with some of them, and believe me, they whine. What you fail to understand is how many advantages men are already given just for being male - so much so that they take it for granted and think everything they have was earned totally based on merit. I've seen plenty of posts here on these IMDB boards where men are whining about guys being mistreated and how things need to be done about that. Don't think women have a monopoly on "whining."

In a documentary about women in Hollywood, women executives, including Sherry Lansing, was talking about how, when a woman makes a suggestion in a board meeting, she is ignored. But when a male executive makes the exact same point, then he is heard and complimented. (I even hear this from women working outside of Hollywood - surprise, surprise). Given the fact that their male peers aren't even listening and the fact that there are a disproportionate number of men in positions of power, how is it that you think that the women who are "in charge" are being heard?

Television likely features more women than men in TV films/series, but men are not counting how many TV films/episodes one by one, to find some sexist-reason to feel discriminated against.

Maybe men are not counting because there's plenty more for them in the film industry, so they can stay working in films longer??

It's a cop-out to dismiss TV, and focus on feature films to serve your agenda. There is not anything someone like you wouldn't twist in order to find fault so you can feel mistreated

Uh, this is a film board, and I believe we were discussing movies? You think it's all in women's heads that we are mistreated? Just take a look around you (something you apparently don't do much of) - at the real world, not the la-la land that is Hollywood. Isn't there much more violence against women - rape, murder, female infanticide, etc? Women constantly have to look over their shoulders for their physical safety, something men don't routinely have to do. Maybe if you had a little more compassion and understanding of the way the world works, you wouldn't be so dismissive when women complain.

No modeling agency will pander to your "diversity" expectations either. If you are homely , overweight, short--that is something you are obligated to accept and nobody has to make allowances for you.

You miss my point. There is a constant barrage - in advertising, on magazine covers, in movies - of female images that are pushed onto us, so much so, it is hard to escape from noticing them. You don't think this has an effect on women's perception of themselves? When actresses in Hollywood feel the need to inject their faces, stay impossibly skinny, get boob jobs - you don't think that filters down to all women in general? You think we live in some kind of vacuum - that we are immune to the images we see around us? Why do you think women feel a need to look a certain way? Because every time a women - even a beautiful one in Hollywood - gets dumped or loses a job for a younger model, it just reinforces the power of those media images.

You are not special nor entitled because the world is not fair. You need to suck it up, in other words.

I never said I was "special" or "entitled". Where in my post did you ever get that idea? You don't think I know the world is not fair? Life isn't fair the moment you are born. By your logic, then, there should be no system of justice to right wrongs, because, hey, the world isn't fair, so don't think you're special and just stay where you are.
