Why has her career turned to beep

Sharon was HUGELY famous throughout the nineties. Still to this day she is regarded to as a movie icon and yet she's unable to get any good movie roles anymore. I know that she got older but there are plenty of other actresses that never reached the level of fame and success Stone had reached that continued acting until a very old age. Was there a movie role that she took that ruined her career or something?

I haven't seen The Specialist either, as it just sounds so plastic and flimsy. (And not in a fun, escapist way.)

But this issue of (bad) roles Stone accepted once she was in demand may be rooted in exactly what and how many roles are available to actresses in film (especially once they've hit their late 30's.)

I doubt there were utterly fantastic roles or projects Stone turned down...performers don't usually strive to appear in junk.
