Do you think he still has a chance to at least receive another Oscar nod?

I don't know, his future projects don't look stable. A part of them look promising and even Awards worthy, but others look like he goes back into the hole that Creed gave him a shot to escape.

I still believe in him because well... I love the guy and know that he has a great potential when he puts heart and effort into his work, but I am also aware of how fucking lazy he can be. I always said that if he would have followed his career in Rocky's (1976) and First Blood's steps he would probably have an Oscar now (maybe not for acting but at least for writing or directing).

But what do you people think about it...?

Stallone is probably my favourite (living) actor....but it's a bit of a catch 22 situation for him. He can only seem to generate attention, by returning to his 'franchise' well (which, given his advancing years) is running dry.
It would have to be a stand-alone project...but the fact that he's still churning out action movies, isn't going to help this transition. The fact that he's still in incredible shape, may limit the sort of roles (someone of his supposed age) should play

Personally (despite loving the Rocky franchise) I hated CREED, and thought it tried too hard to be Oscar-bait (imo, he was much better in ROCKY BALBOA)

Agreed. There was this emotional and inspiring side in his performance that he kept throughout the entire movie. Rocky Balboa is actually one of the very few movies that actually made me cry. This nostalgic scene when he drives around the town with Paulie was so powerful with the feelings. It hits the right spot.

This been said, I loved Creed and thought his performance was strong as well. This scene in the doctor office was some exceptional acting and I actually (legitimately) have rarely seen such strenght when it comes to acting in any movie I have ever seen. He might have done emotionless performances like in Rambo 2 or 3, but he had his strong moments as an actor and this is definitely one of them.

And yes... Sly is my favorite actor as well. But as you said... He kinda managed to limit himself when it comes to what the audience wants to see from him.

I think they're gonna roll out old man Stallone for a shit ton of Oscar bait pictures soon. He's got a few surprises left, make no mistake.
