But I don't see how any of this is related to Spacey since he has not been accused of pedophilia. Being attracted to teenagers or having sexual relations with them does not make one a pedophile, even if they are under the age of consent (which varies greatly between states and countries). A pedophile is someone interested in prepubescent children.
From what I have read it is very common in the gay community for very young gay males to come under the wing of an older gay man. Then when these young men grow older, they repeat the process with another much younger guy.

If anything, your article is just reinforcing that there is nothing inherently abnormal about the desire for some gay men to date younger partners. Nor is there anything inherently abnormal about the desire for some gay men to date older partners.
Older men date younger women, Older women date younger men, as long as it is all legal and consensual there is no problem.
