Soo many movies...

So many movies that were so good had Kevin Spacey in them. So we have to hate all those movies now? I just don't know how to feel. Sorry for the pointless post. I guess I should be worried about more than not wanting to watch any of his movies ever again.

reply

The nazis created Volkswagen...people still drive them...Kevin made good flicks...people will still watch them...enjoy his work guilt free!

reply

Didn't know that about Volkswagen, thanks. Jk. Yes, he has such a great body of work.

reply

Hugo boss clothed them...just saying...πŸ˜‰

reply

Clothed the Nazis?

reply

Yup yup yup!

Hugo Boss AG, often styled as BOSS, is a German luxury fashion house. It was founded in 1924 by Hugo Boss and is headquartered in Metzingen, Germany. Originally focusing on uniforms, it was a supplier for Nazi Party organizations both before and during World War II.

Suddenly Kevin spacey flicks seem kinda small potatoes πŸ˜„

reply

If you're gonna do genocide, why not look fabulous?

reply

Yes, kind of. I guess a lot was forgiven following the war..
and to looking fab, yeah they probably honestly wanted to.

reply

And if that all freaks you out...do not Google George W. Bushs grandpa...holy sh!t!!!

reply

Ok, now I kind of want to. Why don't you just tell me..haha

reply

Nazi banker...

reply

History is a mess..

reply

@Dfeet

You failed to mention Henry Ford’s collaboration with the NAZI’s. And Daddy Kennedy’s bootlegging business. If you’re going to call one out...you have to call them all.

reply

Do I really have to?

reply

Just watched K-Pax a few weeks ago, still a fantastic movie. Right now I'm more annoyed at the guy for spilling the beans on Kevin before Season 6 of House of Cards was released, because now it's suspended indefinitely and we get the stupid Season 5 cliffhanger as the show's ending. The guy waited decades to tell all, could it have waited another few years?

reply

Was season 6 already made? That happened with a Canadian show, one of the actors got in trouble for a sex crime and then they just never aired the last season even though it was already made.

reply

I believe production had just started a couple weeks ago on Season 6, very short-lived anyway.

reply

I always meant to start watching it, now I'm glad I didn't.

reply

Fifty years ago, millions of Beatles records were burned by former fans. Commie John Lennon said the group were more popular than Jesus. Good thing he didn't say Mohammed. Beatles songs are still popular.

(records are made of PVC and release toxic smoke)

reply

You don't have to hate his movies. You might want to re-evaluate him as a person, and whether you want to fund his future success by buying his products. That's up to you.

reply

Good point.

reply

You don't have to hate his movies, and certainly the other people that helped make those films do not deserve their work to be shunned because of his activities. You may not be interested in future films with him, but for me it makes little difference. I don't judge films based on whether an actor may be a good guy or bad guy in real life. If the film interest me I will likely see it.

This is an issue that came up with the recent Jeepers Creepers movie and the director was punished for what he did, albeit not that severely. Some horror "news" websites boycotted the film because of Victor Salva.

reply

I didn't even hear of that, Victor Salva. I know when I heard about Harvey Weinstein I thought there would be lots more stories and there are... sickening really.
But I agree with you that the work is still good no matter what someone is like in real life. I wish they would keep it all away from the media and deal with it themselves without us having to hear about it.
That seems cold though I suppose, but when they are at work, they are at work. Maybe don't give them anymore projects, but like you said we should still be able to enjoy the old stuff.

Well put that "You don't have to hate his movies, and certainly the other people that helped make those films do not deserve their work to be shunned because of his activities."

reply

Who is telling you to hate them? I can still enjoy the movies he came out in.

reply

well he plays a villain in most of them so now you can hate the character in those movies even more

reply

It would be pointless to stop watching the movie he did that you love.

reply

If I can still enjoy OJ in the Naked Gun movies and Rosemary's Baby (directed by Polanski), I can still enjoy a good Kevin Spacey movie.

I don't condone what he did, but I forgive him. Nobody's perfect and you have to separate the man from the art.

reply

I hear you on the Polanski thing. It never occurred to me to link them and how I have still always enjoyed his movies. I don't condone what he did either, but I understand what your saying.

reply

Simpson in all likelihood murdered his wife and someone he barely knew. Polanski drugged and raped at least one underage girl, and neither have expressed any remorse, or even admitted to their heinous crimes, the same as Weinstein.

It's one thing when someone's admitted to and taken responsibility for their actions, and entirely another when they haven't. This isn't simply a matter of "nobody's perfect." People's lives have been lost in some cases, and ruined in others.
